As much as Blu-Ray sounds inviting, luxe doesn't come cheap. An average Blu-Ray player costs about $500, and you will need to get new Blu-Ray discs to enjoy its fullest potential. However, for less than 1/4 of the price of a Blu-Ray player, Toshiba (former inventors of the now-defunct HD-DVD) just introduced "XDE" players which "revitalize" your current DVDs, so that you can still get "high-def" pictures on your new big-screens.
Don't throw away your DVD's... just yet.
